Definite articles
le, la, l', les — get them right and your French sounds native.
Every French noun has a gender. The article (le / la) reveals it. Get it wrong and you sound foreign.
The four forms
« le » before masculine + consonant, « la » before feminine + consonant, « l' » before any vowel or silent h, « les » in the plural.
